Mahatma Gandhi


Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (October 2, 1869 – January 30, 1948) is an India's "Father of the Nation". He's a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian independence movement.
 
Gandhi organized poor farmers and labourers to protest against oppressive taxation and widespread discrimination. He led nationwide campaigns for the alleviation of poverty, for the liberation of women, for brotherhood amongst differing religions and ethnicities, and for the economic self-sufficiency of the nation. Gandhi always remained committed to non-violence and truth in any situations.
 
Gandhi has influenced important leaders and political movements. He gave a lot of people insprirasation. Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Steve Biko, Nelson Mandela (an anti-apartheid activist) and Aung San Suu Kyi was inspired by him .
